STEAM Field Trips at our place or yours!

Hello teachers and homeschoolers!  tinkrLAB welcomes all students to reserve a private event to tinkrTOGETHER as one of our team members leads an educational hands-on workshop.  Our available themes cover all things STEAM, and are tailored to accommodate different age groups and skill levels.  Activities are meant to encourage creativity, collaboration and Fun!

Daycares & Pre-Schools

2-5 Years Old

30 Minute Sessions + 30 Minutes of Learning Lagoon

tinkrART

Make an art project using unique materials to create their masterpiece.  A hands on and tactile focused field trip.  Make sure to wear something to play in because we might get messy!

Working with different textures, shapes and materials.  Sensory play suports language development, cognitive growth, motor skills, problem solving skills and social interaction.

For our littlest tinkrLAB kids.  Focus is hands on building and making, color sorting, counting, matching and shape recognition.  Get those little hands moving and those little brains discovering.

STEAM can be fun for little ones too!  They will get hands-on learning about Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math, with age appropriate projects and topics.

Kindergarten - 5th Grade

tinkrSCIENCE

Come do science experiments with us!  Each student will get to pick the science experiment of their choice off of our tinkrSCIENCE wall.  

Complete with all of the components needed, they will perform their experiments and discover the why behind science.

Splatter Paint Art

What's better than getting messy and not getting in trouble for it? Create artwork in our splatter booth to keep or give as a gift! Let them enjoy making the mess in OUR space, and learn at the same time.

(Please note this activity is only able to be done at tinkrLAB)

Do you like to make something out of nothing? The tinkrTABLE field trip will give you all of the pieces and parts you could imagine to create your own invention that you get to take home.  Focusing on open ended design, students will get to flex their creative muscles.

Robot Petting Zoo

Learn to code with Ozobot, make self-driving cars with Dash, Dot and Cue, and complete simple circuit challenges with Makey-Makey.  This hour long workshop will introduce your kids to the work of robots, coding, and circuits in a fun and engaging way.

Paper Air Plane Challenge

Think you have what it takes to make a paper airplane that flies the furthest? We will have supplies to try your hand at making new models. You will learn about aerodynamics and how different designs work. Then, we put a motor on your plane and see which one can go the distance.

Toy Hack

Come "hack" toys and remake them into your very own creation! Think "Sid" from Toy Story. There's no telling what imaginative and ridiculous inventions everyone will make. Use your creativity to sketch out an idea, then use tools to take apart toys and make your vision come to life!

Take Apart Invention

Encourage curiosity and learn how things work from the inside out. Everyone gets to work on taking apart projects using real tools and expert guideance! Then take your favorite pieces and make an invention to take home!

Rube Goldberg

Building a Rube Goldberg machine takes thought, precision and team work. During this field trip you will need to utilize the materials given to you to complete a chain reaction with an end result. Sound too easy? Now you have to link your machine up to your classmates machines.

Lego Masters

Think you have what it takes to be a Lego Master? This hour long field trip will test your problem solving and building skills through fun and exciting Lego challenges! You might get to make a meal out of Legos, build the tallest bridge, or construct your dream house!

Circuits

Play and experiment with Squishy Circuits as we teach how circuits work. Use condictive and insulating dough to teach the basics of electrical circuits in a fun, hands-on way. Experiment with different shapes of dough to see what makes an LED light up.

Mystery Engineering Challenge

Engineers focus on materials they have and what can be created to solve a problem. You will be given parts and a challenge.
